Super Sue x WATG

When we got our first delivery of Wool and the Gang, Sue's eyes lit up. Since then she has been busy crocheting with the WATG yarns, here are a few of the projects she has been working on and how you can make them too.

Handy Totes

Crochet Grey Bag (L)

For this bag Sue used two balls of Jersey Be Good in Jog Grey and a Rosewood 10mm Crochet Hook. After cutting off the handle, Sue use one of our FA tote bags (currently only available in store) to create a lining as the orange colour of the tote works as a nice contrast to the Jog Grey Jersey Be Good Yarn.  To fix the handles Sue used two packs of the Trigger End and Tassel End plus two additional packs of the Trigger Ends. To finish the bag off she attached a Magnetic Fastener. Sue says that this made a good strong bag that would put up with the rigours of a shop till you drop trip!

Crochet Grey Bag with Flap (R)

Sue wanted to make a strong bag that you could use for the gym or a yoga class. This one used three balls of Mix Tape Yarn in Jog Grey and a 10mm Crochet Hook. She used one Magnetic Fastener to secure the flap and for the handles, Sue used two packs of the Trigger End and Tassel End plus two additional packs of the Trigger Ends.

Crochet Choker

Sue had some spare Mix Tape Yarn in Jog Grey left over from her bag so she made this charming choker. If you would like to make one then why not take a look at the Wool and the Gang Clueless Tai Kit.

A Snood is great to attempt if you are learning to crochet.

Red Crochet Snood

The dark red colour will look great in the winter months, Sue used one ball of the Crazy Sexy Wool True Blood Red.

Blue Crochet Snood

This snood was made following a crochet shell pattern and two balls of Sugar Baby Alapca Wool. 3.5mm crochet hook

Crochet Wave Cushion

This charming cushion with a wave cushion was made using the WATG Shiny Happy Cotton. Sue chose Blue Water, Jog Grey and Vintage Blue. Sue found the pattern from a magazine article but you can replicate this at home using a wave stitch. To fasten the back of the cushion, Sue used four 11mm Sew on Snap Fasteners N/P. She created a cushion pad, to stop the stuffing coming through the stitch, using Undyed Calico and filled the pad with Super Poly Stuffing, to give a springy feel to the cushion.

Crochet Jumper

This Crochet Jumper is great for winter, but also cooler summer days and nights. Sue used a Sirdar pattern #7075 but she needed to make some adjustments as she used WATG Shiny Happy Cotton which is an Aran weight rather than DK yarn, but she was very happy with the results. For this jumper, Sue used a Rosewood Crochet Hook 5mm and eight balls of Ultra Violet Shiny Happy Cotton, which she found to work very well with the hook.

And as if that wasn't enough, Sue is adapting the Sirdar pattern #7075 so she can make a short sleeve jumper for her friend!
